S.E.A. CAMP BAJA

"Training up the next generation of surfers to be men and women of God"

Camp Baja offers a variety of exciting and challenging surf camps for young men and women, from the age of 14 to 20,  along the beautiful and surf-rich coastline of Baja California, Mexico.

With adventure-filled surf camps offered throughout the year, Camp Baja also provides Biblical discipleship and a unique arena for ministry and outreach opportunities, including various neighborhood work projects, free surf schools for local youth, or just hanging out with kids from several different orphanages.

Our camps are meant to leave a lasting memory in the hearts and minds of young men and women who desire to have a more intimate relationship with God and enjoy new surf experiences in a small and intimate group camp setting.

Even though Camp Baja is not designed as a traditional "surf school" camp, we are able to customize our Camp to facilitate specific groups and/or organizations (large or small) such as: church groups, ministry outreach teams, youth programs, surf/sport teams and others.  Contact us  for further infor-mation or to discuss a Customized Group Camp program.

June 26th - July 3rd

August 7th - August 14th

Camp Baja is pleased to introduce summer surf camps to Punta Abreojos in Baja Sur.

Abreojos (translated "open your eyes") is a small remote fishing village, located approxi-mately 600 miles south of the U.S./Mexican border.  Punta Abreojos has some of the best waves in Baja during the summer sea-son, offering something for every level of surfer and every style or kind of surfcraft.

This Camp is limited to 8 Campers

Experienced surfers will enjoy the handful of right-hand points, many within walking distance, with punchy bowls, reeling barrels, and rippable walls.

For the beginner or intermediate surfer, there are a variety of gentle sand bottom sections, as well as several empty beach breaks to choose from.

Swells during summer are generally be-tween waist high to a few feet overhead, with some days in the double overhead range.  The beginner or intermediate surfer can simply choose to surf further inside the point where the swells wrap around, decreasing in size and power, and reel gently into the bay.

The five nights we spend at Punta Abreojos will be in camp-style accommodations on the beach and within steps of the waves we will be surfing.

There are a few homes in the area but no camping facilities - far removed from the familar comforts and routines of home.  No television, cell phone or internet.  It's as good as it gets!

Camp Baja provides all necessary camping gear except sleeping bags and pillows.  Two people (of the same sex) are assigned to a 7'X7' tent.  We will be using portable camp toilets with privacy tents and solar showers.

Local Youth & Community Outreach Local Youth & Community Outreach

While in Punta Abreojos, several hours each day will be dedicated to community service and youth outreach.  Some of the planned activities include landscape improvements, free youth surf lessons, skating and making videos of the local kids performing tricks on their bmx bikes.

ENSENADA SURF SCHOOL OUTREACH ENSENADA SURF SCHOOL OUTREACH

July 11th - July 17th

July 18th - July 24th

For two weeks in July, Camp Baja will be conducting a free surf school as an outreach program to the local youth in the Ensenada area.  We will be hosting the surf school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.   This is a fun time to help push kids into waves and teach them the sport we love and enjoy.  It is also a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus while making new friends (young and old) who live south of the border.

The afternoons on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and all day Tuesday and Thursday, are free-surf days.  Daily expeditions may take us anywhere within a day's journey from the Ensenada area in Baja Norte.  Other activities may also include hiking, swimming, fishing, skating or playing soccer on a secluded beach.
